On Tuesday the four of us boarded the Conway Scenic Line to ride the rails from North Conway up thru what they call Crawford Notch, where "Notch" really means the gorge or narrow valley leading up to a higher point. Of course Clara loved the ride on the old train – let's see, that makes lighthouses, trains, quilts, old mansions – enough stuff to keep us looking at this and that here and there. The ride does provide some spectacular views as you can see from the pictures.
